A Little History

A Little History

A little history about the Iles Family. My husband was raised in Wallowa County, his parents worked for big cattle ranchers and Jeff’s mom owned and ran an antique shop in Lostine, Oregon for years. They eventually purchased a little place of their own. I on the other hand was raised in Pendleton Oregon, a city girl but county girl in my heart!! Luckily I was able to spend every spring break and some of my summer vacations on my grandparents/Uncle farm in Oaksdale, Washington. When my husband first took me to Wallowa I fell in love with his parents and their way of life. Jeff’s dad gave me a horse to ride, we gathered cows, we helped brand, and we did all the things that come with that life. My husband and I had planned for years to move to Wallowa county and we even purchased 160 acres up there with his dad, but we fell in love with Helix a small town surrounded by wheat fields. Eventually purchased a small hobby farm out on Juniper Canyon Road. Our son and his two daughters now live there and we share the responsibility. The last couple of years our family hit some emotionally hard times, but we decided that we weren’t going to let my husband, my and our sons hard work go to waste, so we have ban together to do all the things we had talked about for years!! Become more self sufficient, grow, raise and share our bounty. I have always loved flowers, working in my garden, the farm life, cooking as well as crafts, and sewing. So we have brought together our small 15 acre farm and Magdalena’s Treasures farmers market and gift shop to have a outlet for our goods. This is a family endeavor and we feel very blessed to be able to work side by side with our children and grandchildren. We are looking forward to the new and exciting adventures!!❤️
